Captain's BookMessages
The site's contact form writes straight into the panel. Messages are listed with full name, phone and email; unread ones appear in red, read ones in green. The envelope icon in the top bar and the menu badge show the number of pending messages.

Unread counter
Pending message count in the top bar and side menu; opening a message marks it read and lowers the counter.

Clickable email and phone links for a quick reply; paginated list.
Panel notifications
System notifications are listed under the bell icon in the top bar; unread ones are highlighted.
